Tight gear change

since getting the swb back on the road the gearbox is lovely and
there's no jumping out any gears but it seams to be getting
tight actually selecting gears, getting into reverse no problem
( this is sitting whilst the engine is off ) and 3/4 ok but
first is a shit and while out and driving it has felt like it's
stuck in 3rd and you really have to pull to change out.The box
doesn't make any horrible noises so any thoughts before i start
pulling the floor plates.
cheers

Does the gear stick feel right ?
The grub screw that holds the ball in place that the stick
rotates on can come out and selector ball end is trying to
select more than one gear.
Remove rubber grommet to have a look at it.

You may find that the spacers between the gears aren't quite
right.
Try draining the oil and see if anything drops out.
