So here's the plan:
Tomorrow, Prep climbing and 'laning gear. Conduct full engine
service including complete ignition system renewal and tappets.
Drive into town to collect rented engine crane (mine in storage
:( ). Drive to Portsmouth. [Mileage - 135]
Friday, Drive to Warsash, do 2 hour course, return to
Portsmouth. Talk to school kids at lifeboat station. Pick up
mate, drive back to family home. Drink much beer. [Mileage -
170]
Saturday, Drop out transmission (very high milage, temporary two
years ago and now knackered) and replace with original
transmission. Including swapping bell housing back to original
trans before installation. Drive to Cumbria. [Milage - 420]
Sunday and Monday. Greenlane, walk and climb. Visit the Prof to
pick up a rear door. [Mileage - 100ish]
Tuesday. As above, then go back home. [Mileage - 460 ish]
That adds up to about 1300 miles in 5 days, with a transmission
swap in the middle.

Phase One complete: Weather crap, traffic worse. On minor repair
neccesitated by mine own muppetry (didn't notice a two inch
length of rocker cover gasket had slid back when refitting cover
causing a minor leak. Quick fix but frustrating as my fault
:wanker:)
Leafers spotted: 2 [of which under power 0/2]

Commence phase 3, to the North! :giddy:
Phase two completed somewhat behind schedule, due entirely to
yesterdays appalling weather and in no way related to Friday

I was fairly surprised to be offered the loan of a laptop Prof.
. . . Thanks :)
Phase four complete, left Kendal at 1630, arrived home 2115 with
one just one stop for petrol and an on the fly repair when the
earth lead for the wiper motor came adrift on the motorway
:2mo5pow:. Leaky transfer box cover plate temporarily fixed with
external application of aluminium tape, now on to do list for
the rest of this week ::)
Blood good days laning, winch saw action on one tricky little
cross axle (much preferred to having to use 'momentum') :giddy:
Pics will follow eventually.
Leafers spotted 8, of which under power 3/8.
