       Part Suppliers

Anybody got any favourites? I have been searching for loads of
stuff from gaskets for a 200tdi to gear box bits.
       I found
  HTML http://www.lrparts.net/
to be good as they have the part
manual so you know what you are ordering but I have the
workshop/parts manual for all the series anyway.
Price has to be right but I would love one supplier who has good
products and not ripping me off. Ebay seems cheap but you don't
really know what you are getting, don't really have a return
option and I worked out some things and although were about £120
if i went to craddock/paddocks they turned out cheaper. Through
my search/experience I thought I found a good one in wales but
       they let me down.
       Sort of thinking of trying

I can highly recommend Dunsfold LR. Knowledgable chaps,
reasonably priced and a great service. Parts usually with you
next day. Oh and they don't usually supply Shitpart! all good in
       my book!

I've found my local landy specialists will get anything I want.
Once you build a fair relationship will a local dealer they
don't let you down. Much better than relying on postage.

       +1 for Dunsfold.
Not the cheapest, but you do get to speak to someone who comes
across as genuinely enthusiastic and also knows their stuff. The
guy I usually seem to end up speaking to will talk me through my
options (price vs quality etc) when more than one maker's part
is available, and if I say "no Britpart" they respect that.
Great service and swift delivery - almost makes spending money
       enjoyable!

I rarely use anyone other than Dunsfold now. They aren't the
cheapest, but they get it right first time, they send the parts
quickly, and the parts don't fail prematurely.
For me, these factors far outweigh the cheapest cost.
       Cheers

Another vote for Dunsfold here, they have bent over backwards
for me and not just on big money orders
Out of the Paddocks/Craddocks duo I prefer Craddocks. A phone
call to craddocks generally gets hold of helpful people who seem
to know what they are talking about and they will respect the
'no britpart' rule, although you need to really spell it out.
(yesterday they dispatched a new oil seal to me for zero postage
after it was me who ordered the equivalent defender part by
mistake.) Paddocks have infuriated me many times, craddocks only
       rarely  ::).

Recent good results from LRDirect, Blanchards for ex MOD parts,
Craddocks for general stuff. Given the distances up here paying
postage tends to be cheaper than using diesel to drive to a
"local" supplier - no-one closer than a 2 hour round trip.
Interestingly enough I local Indy refuses to use Britpart at
all, another appears to use almost nothing else !

I use a mix, LR Direct for a lot of stuff as they are
transparent with who's stuff they're supplying. Paddocks are
getting better as OEM seems to be an option on more and more of
their stuff. Dunsfold I rate very highly too, Blanchards are
generally OK if a bit pricey for some parts.

       Good Evening All,
Nick or Phil at Dunsfold get a vote from me every time.
Blanchards are OK. I tend to avoid Craddock except where
       necessary.
