       Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how the snail cam adjusters come apart on the
brake drums? Ive a kit coming but I'm not sure how they come
       apart.
       Cheers, Steve

They don't, the original ones have to be cut off to remove them

my old ones appeared to be pressed together, but would only come
       off with angle grinder.
new wones bolt together and were simple to fit.

Awesome, thank you. I was a proper monkey with a puzzle when I
was looking at in yesterday. Looks like a good excuse to buy a
new grinder as I melted the last one the other day.
       Cheers ears!

One of those jobs best done on the bench. Take the back plate
off and then it is easy to angle grind the old ones off. Some
new ones don't come with fitting instructions, avoid Shitpart.
       Bearmach OK.

       What he said ^
I used shitpart ones. Bloody awful. They rely on the cam being
pressed onto a splined shaft, but everything is made of cheese.
After they promptly came loose they are now tack welded on and
will one day have to be cut off again. :executioner:

I've worked on several motors with snail cam adjusters and don't
       like them.
I noticed going through the parts manual that LR with the series
2 used the conical type (like on the hydraulic brake and Triumph
rear drums) which are much better imo. Then LR changed back to
snail cams with the 2A and S3 - just wondering if anyone knew
why apart from perhaps being cheaper!
       I was thinking of upgrading my S3 to 11" fronts (i.e. S2
backplates) and having conical adjusters all round albeit
staying with SLS brakes. Just wondering if anyone had done this.

Exactly what I had to do to at least two some months after
       fitting them :smiley-furious:
