speedo cable fixings

I have had a frustrating evening trying to complete a few little
jobs, and have largely failed! I have been trying to secure the
speedo cable to the gearbox
but don't have the fixings, what thread are they please? and are
they screws or bolts? the landy was stripped when I bought it,
so nothing to go on.
Also the same question for the dash fixings as I'm asking!
although they are a lot more accessible!
Thanks, Beano. :banghead

They are tiny countersunk flat head screws. I think they are 2ba
but not 100%. An adult will be along o correct me in a bit!

And once you've established what thread the bolts that hold the
speedo cable into the gearbox are, it might be worth considering
getting allen-key cap bolts for the purpose. The access to hold
the bolts whilst you are fitting them in that location is quite
poor, but if you subsititute allen-key cap bolts, you can put
the bolt onto the end of the allen key and poke it into the
hole.
I've seen it done before, and thought it was an excellent little
improvement.
Cheers
James

Yuh huh. 2BA. Anywhere near Aylesbury? You can have a few, save
ordering 'em.

Replaced my speedo cable in the past. I found those screws a
right pain in the harris to get in.

Hi chaps, I tracked some 2ba screws down today and have had a
much more successful evening, so now the speedo cable is fixed
hooray!
Just several other shitty little jobs to complete now!
Ta for the help.
