       aeroparts capstan and 200 TDI?
   DIR By: Toots

Does anyone have the above combination fitted and working?
Recently acquired an aeroparts winch that I believe to be off an
ex coastguard vehicle judging by the colours. Only thing I've
not got is the drive plate to fix to the crank pulley and no
real idea of what one looks like or how to make one to fit
       200tdi.
Pics of existing set ups would be a massive help or any pointers
       gratefully received.

Didn't get home till late yesterday but ere you go:-
Be aware this is a well used item so holes will be bigger and
       studs smaller than when new.
The drive plate is a disc of steel 0.380" thick and 2.932 in
       diameter
  HTML http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww185/clunkdave/1_zps5a5ac65b.jpg
It has two square studs on the crank shaft side
  HTML http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww185/clunkdave/2_zpsae71d374.jpg
and three round studs on the winch side
  HTML http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww185/clunkdave/3_zps497c3fce.jpg
The hole for the crank bolt is 0.853" diameter.
There is a slight countersink 0.036" deep and 1.222" diameter,
the two studs which are 0.377" square sit on the edge of the
countersink and their inside edges are curved to the radius of
       the countersink.
  HTML http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww185/clunkdave/4_zps7bbe47ac.jpg
The winch side has a deeper countersink to take the crankshaft
       bolt/washer 1.422" diameter and 0.115" deep
The three studs are 0.38 in diameter and height set equidistant
around the disc, it is difficult to measure exactly their
position but you have the matching plate on the winch drive as
       a guide.

Hope this helps - I haven't attempted to fit it to the 200tdi on
Winstan yet so currently haven't a clue as to whether the
original tdi crank bolt is long enough etc.
I have ritting instructions somewhere and will post 'em later

I am in the sort of situation you are in but with a Fairey
winch. The crank bolt needed is not same at all. HNJ engineering
make the longer bolt required and they are also very
knowledgable if you need reassurance before you risk ruining
your crank. I don't know if the fixings for the guider mechanism
will be there either. It is of course much simpler on a Fairey.
Also the later metric crank bolt is slightly thicker than the
       older imperial one.
I suspect great care and discussion with the 'Gurus' on these
sites will pay dividends in the end!
Good luck bud ! :smilewide: :lightblb:

Looking at the exploded diagram i am in need of some allen head
set bolts for fixing the bollard cap onto bollard. They needed
some gentle persuasion to come undon and are wrecked. Any idea
what thread they are (from a man whom is only used to silly
european sizes and is embarrasingly clueless about proper
       english ones wagfinger).
