they've now offered it to me for £2900, I've resubmitted my
original offer, I guess I wont get a response till tuesday.
If we cant agree a price I guess it will go to auction again
(and I'll bid the same again!!!)
I still don't know full spec.

Well it's mine now, went through the auction 4 times, never
reached its reserve but they finally accepted my high bid
       :smilewide:
got it home and stripped off some of the damaged bits, I've
straightened the rear crossmember, but need something more
powerful to sort the front dumbiron, other than that bit the
       chassis seems to be straight.
I've had it running, but not driven it due to wonky steering,
but hope to fix that this weekend.
still trying to find out its history

Persistence paid off then! Well done (I think..!! :smilewide:)
Are you going to try and get it back on the road again, or rape
it's crippled arse for spares? That near-side damage is a
bugger, it could take a lot of work before it looks anything
other than wobbly. I hope you'll start a thread on it!

It might be worth checking that thoroughly before proceeding.
Fingers crossed it's only superficial chassis damage though.
What engine did it have in the end?

I hope to get it back on the road, I've done some basic
       measurements and all seems ok.
200tdi with defender manifolds, 4 speed with Roverdrive, fully
rubber lined floor & seatbases etc, parabollix, P38 steering,
zeus front discs, salisbury rear end, looks like galvy bulkhead,
so well worth the purchase price :giddy:
I plan to fit new (used) rear tub, front wing and bumper along
with a bonnet I already had, which should having looking a bit
       healthier.
Even if it does need a chassis I'd need all those bits anyway

Seems like a good buy then; that little lot represents a fair
bit of work and £££. Someone obviously put a lot of thought into
making a vehicle with good trans-continental touring
       potential..!
