Was trying to work out what Prestik was.....
       Looks like our Blu-tak stuff.
Not quite convinced I'd be sticking windscreen panes in with it.
I've used Sikaflex car body adhesive or butyl roofing adhesive
before and found it to work well. Not easy to remove a
windscreen pane without breaking though once stuck.

i used silicone sealant & it worked a treat for me. Others have
said this will make the world end but I like to live on the edge
       sometimes :executioner:

Hi - I used Sikaflex 291, about £10 off eBay. Works really
well. I did put some flexible 2mm spacers between the glass and
the frame first to ensure that it didn't touch the glass when
the Ali strips were refitted. Do this before the Sikaflex
starts to cure. I used butyl tape against the glass when
fitting these retaining strips. Excess Sikaflex can be cut off
after it has had a chance to set for a few hours. Has sealed the
windscreen well with no problems so far.
Good luck with however you decide to go - Cheers - Matt

Dumdum is the best stuff to use. It stays flexible and seals
well. Look on the net for it or try a motor factors.

I used sikaflex on my door windows. In work we fit windows to
the boats we build and refit using a product called "Arbomast
       BR"

DumDum has been obsolete and made only from pure unobtainium for
       quite a while now......
Another vote for Sikaflex. The one I've used wipes off with
petrol before it cures. Cheap as chips from Screwfix.

Old cans of DumDum are available on eBay. I had a old can for
about 15 years: With a bit of massaging the DumDum was still
       perfectly usable.
I've never tried to use anything else, so I can't comment as to
whether anything else works as well as DumDum.
       Cheers
       James
