A bit of extra protection

After I caught some scrote undoing the canvas trying to see what
was in the back of pick up I decided on a bit of extra
protection especially as I am planning another trip to
Morocco....
Powder coated black, 50mm mesh, erm,,,, that's about it really
except that the rear hinges up and very little head room is
lost...

Rear mesh, hinges up and connects to a hook in the canvas top,
about 20mm loss of head room..

Mini anti-luce's for padlocks on each side

Because I made the rear panel square (I had to as the canvas
sides taper in slightly I made a couple of plates to fill the
gaps in at each side

Well that's it really, ok with a sledgehammer you could probably
force the panels off but they are pretty robust and with the
canvas off I suppose you could fill the back up with more stuff
because of the high sides. But hopefully anti-scrote proof now
rofl

Brilliant bud! as my dad says "a lock only keeps a honest man
out". This is a good deterrent though. You will feel a lot
happier leaving your motor in a strange town with that fitted,no
question.

Love it, I have done the same for the sides, to stop tools
rubbing on the canvas and keep people out but have stalled doing
the rear; top job :thumbs:
Think you should market a kit 8)

Curve something similar over the roof and the jobs complete.
...although how you stop an absolute scrote from taking a
Stanley to the canvas BEFORE he spots the mesh is maybe an
issue.

Well I did think about that but I am planning on putting a roof
rack on. I know, maybe its a bit crazy but I did see a picture
somewhere of a roof rack on a pick up.
Slashing the canvas, well I don't think anyone has a remedy for
that one. I suppose a replacement would be cheaper than a load
of gear going. :o

I want some of this before I put the rag top back on. As much to
keep the dogs in as to keep scum out.

Isn't it a wee bit unpractical for the rear to open toward the
inside? This way you can not load the back higher than the
bottom edge of the rear panel. Or am I missing something?
