My temp gauge shoots to max as soon as ignition is on. I have
disconnected sendor no difference.traced wire backk to bulkhead
and removed dash cant spot any areas earthing out. The fuel
gauge seems to be fine so does this rule out the voltage
regulator? And just leave the guage or am I testing it all
wrong? Any help greatly appreciated. *help*

Was it working previously? I once delivered a truck that was
showing full on fuel gauge and ran out of fuel. The gauge had
been wired arse backards!

No done it since I got it. Will swap wires but would think it
would go down as engine warms?

If the gauge goes to max with the sender disconnected you must
have a short somewhere. I'd run a new wire loosely from the
gauge to the sender and see what happens first.
