Handbrake Drum Movement - Ideas?

Ay up,
My handbrake drum has some rotational movement with the
handbrake applied or not applied.
Having never had this area to bits yet, Is it a 5 minute job to
tighten it up on the drive or is it a touch more complicated?
I am only a weekend warrior on the spanners so not a
professional mech.
Appreciate any advice on what to do once I get underneath it.

Adjusting the handbrake is easy. On the backplate of the
handbrake you will find a square nut with which you can adjust
it.

Hi Waldorf,
Sorry I should have been more clear, I don't mean the brake is
ineffective, it is nicely adjusted up.
What is happening is the drum itself is able to rotate by a
couple of cms either way.

Stuart, is the backplate moving with drum?, if so it is secured
to the back of the transfer case by 4 studs and nuts which may
have come loose. If so, drum off, shoes off to get access and
tighten, replace in reverse order

that should be easy enough.
Would it be possible for the drum to be turning but the
backplate staying still?
If so what would it be then?
Appreciate the help.

The only way that would happen is if the pivot and adjuster were
loose on the back plate.

Or just wait until whatever is loose comes off on the motorway
when the handbrake drum is doing something like 3000 rpm.

Easy enough to say Albert but as I was at my desk at work it
would have been a lottle bit difficult to see underneath the
car...
