Leafers on Malta and Gozo

I've had the good fortune to spend Christmas in Malta and had a
chance to meet up with Gozo_Joseph for the day whilst there.
Most of the leafers I saw were in motion, including a mint
series one 80" in pastel green followed by no less than four
lightweights in a convoy, so didn't get chance to snap them but
I did manage to photograph a few. Firstly, the transport around
Gozo was Joseph's 109 series 3 diesel who very kindly gave up a
day to show us around the island, thanks Joseph! >rock<

This very tidy series 3 109 was seen being used for boat
transport:

A 109 series 2a seemingly not in use at the moment for anything
other than storing drinks cans, presumably a diesel judging by
the grille badge:

And finally a 109 series 2a in the fishing village of
Marsaxlokk. We spotted a similar 109 in Gozo, from what Joseph
was telling me I believe these were supplied as chassis cabs and
the rear body was fabricated locally.

I like this a lot, the practicality of a wider tailgate and neat
number plate mounting (presumably the new EU type don't fit) is
nice.

That bottom picture reminds me of the '60s Arfix soft plastic
military models, right basic shape but missing some of the
details, the colour is nearly right as well.

Hi Noel + all,
judging by the number plate on the 107\109 at the bottom it is
the pre EU registration plate it is most likely out of
commission.
