But have they got the right type of locomotive and rolling
stock? That's what really matters. ;D

Telly is full of glaring obvious errors with regards to motors,
here are a couple that I have noticed lately: Military vehicles
with tax discs, the story of Dr Who set in 1963 with C & D
plate motors to name a few I have noticed.

In a word, no. The loco used is a class 37, the actual loco was
a class 40. Although repainted green it still carried a 1980's
headlight and a number of other period inaccuracies. The sound
track also came from the other side of the Atlantic as well.
The buses that appeared in a number of shots in Episode 2 were
laughable:
1) Second shot - top a Wright Gemini - built early 2000's onward
2) Third shot - ADL Enviro 400 in the background - built 2006
onwards
3) Outside the Café in Torquay - Another Wright Gemini in First
livery introduce last year

I was politely asked to 'shut up and just watch the fillum'
when I started ranting on about the train robbers in 1963 having
a 'lights in the wings' Land Rover... & civvy number plates on
'army' motors eh.
...B Reynolds had WW2 type trousers with his '49 pattern
battledress too ::)

I thought it was the first time I'd herd they went for a
millitry look for the getaway vehicles, which makes me suspisous
it was a bit of TV dramatisation. That said TV is never that
accurate so whilst I can spot an land rover based error there
are probubly far more factually inacurate parts to the plot that
I'm ignorant to I can't really complain. I belive one of the
most common complaints to 'Hartbeat' was that the land-rovers or
morris whatevers were fitted with non pereod lamp lenses.
The real landys were a series 1 and a series 2, didn't know
there was a truck though getting all that and the robbers in a
couple of 88s would probubly be a challenge as I'm not sure I
could carry £1.35 million AND 7 passengers, though I'm willing
to give it a try if anyones offering - I think first we'd best
try the money on its own just to be sure, infact just inceas
they had a staff car and a swag car lets try the full £2.7M -
I've already carried 7 people so I don't need to retest that
bit.

It wasn't a Series III either, it was a late IIa...
I seem to remember in the film Buster they got the right combo
of a S1 and S2...
