       Good evening and hello!
       My name is Christian, 20 from Hampshire and the very proud owner
       of a 1975 SWB Series 3 named "Maggie" - The Iron Lady. I've
       owned her for a little over a year and a half now and am well
       versed in the joys of owning a Series. From stripping the carb
       to welding in a new footwell I've learnt a fair amount from the
       almost zero experience I had when I first bought her. Enjoyed
       her for many months gentle greenlaning, lugging chums/stuff
       around and battling the elements of winter weather. However, as
       of the past 4 weeks I have decided to do a pretty thorough
       rebuild. The plans is to put a new galvanised chassis on her,
       galvanised bulkhead, strip and fettle the gearbox/axles, fit the
       Rocky Mountain Parabolic springs that have been sitting in my
       shed since May, drop a 200tdi into the engine bay, generally
       make it more comfortable/tidy and prepare it for an overland
       trip trough Eastern Europe/Turkey in Summer 2015. So, that's the
       grand plan! With any luck she'll be ready in a year. I will
       probably be posting numerous times and will regularly update my
       progress.

       everyone!

       rebuild questions and some with firsthand experience of that
       sort of trip.

       Welcome dude, are you sure that you are not a younger
       incarnation of me! My motor is also called Maggie and im
       rebuilding onto a galve chassis and a 200 tdi and Rocky mountain
       springs.
