I just signed the petition "The Treasury: Re introduce the UK
rolling Classic Car Tax Exemption Scheme" on Change.org.
It's important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link:

Good luck with that
As it will cost the "The Treasury" a lot of money, chances are
small me thinks
Holland just lost the exemption for most Land Rovers and the
result is disasterous :banghead

Done.
Fair reasoning is that classics will do low mileage and most
owners probably have another car that they pay full tax on
anyway.
Fingers crossed I suppose.

There have been umpteen petitions for this and the answer has
always been the same. I for one am happy those in Whitehall are
seemingly going for a rolling 40 year exemption, lets hope that
momentum carries forward on that at least. It would be very
surprising it it was a one off. It doesn't help that the person
starting the petition has the dates wrong either!

Done. don't think it'll do much good though, they would rather
scrap all older cars. Dmmy spit

I haven't and won't sign it. If they make all cars of 25 years
and above into "classic" motors that don't have to pay road tax
it will only encourage people to hang onto shite that they would
otherwise have weighed in. It would mean that Austin Metros,
XR3is and all manner of 80s shite would be encouraged to hang
on. These things aren't classics - they're shit.
I'm going to set up a petition so that anything built between
1979 and 1999 is taken off the roads immediately and is crushed.
