Stuck Drum Brake

Anyone got ant tips for removing a stuck Drum Brake? Have
slackened off the adjuster but brake still binding. Pretty sure
the shoes have worn a groove in the drum. Have probably been a
bit gentle with the hammer but don't want to bugger things up.

Have you screwed a drum retaining screw into the threaded hole
to start it off?

This is the rear drum on a swb - it has 3 retaining screws which
I have removed ...... which threaded hole are you referring to?

Right - as well as the countersunk holes for the retaining
screws you removed you should also find a threaded hole.
It's there so you can screw one of the retaining screws in, and
it pushes the drum off the hub.

Smack fuck out of it with a large hammer is about all I can
suggest, had the same with the FFR breaker last winter and it
was the only thing that got it to free off.

bugger me that was tough.....eventually with plenty of hammer -
a jemmy bar between drum and back plate I got the sod off. Bent
one of the shoes in the process. Brake cylinder is totally
frozen.....looks like a replacement required.
I did find heating up the drum helped.
Is it sensible to replace shoes on both sides at the same time
or is it ok to just do one?

Do the shoes as an axle set, you may cause an imbalance if you
fit unmatched shoes on the same axle.

Will do......any comments on the offering from the people with
the blue writing? Are Shitpart brakes worth going for? I can get
a set of shoes with 2 wheel cylinders for £15 + Vat.......Any
alternatives?
