Condensation?

Does anyone else suffer from water in their passenger underseat
box? probably why most of the bottoms rust out.
Lifted the lid today and everything inside is soaking wet. Now a
while ago in the summer I left the canvas roof off for one night
and it rained ::) so it could be rain water, although could be
condensation, as I now have the truck cab roof on and have the
heater running. Either way its no good keeping stuff in there if
its gonna get wet. If they suffer from condensation I might try
to line the box with insulation, what do ya reckon?

Neverhad problems with any of my motors, sounds to me that
something has got wet, or you have gotten water ingress from
somewhere.

drill small (1or2mm) in bottom corners - water will drain out
but will be hard to get in :-?
when dry spray with wd40 now and then to keep rust down

Thanks chaps, nice to know its not a common problem. I think it
must be the rainwater ingress from when I left the roof off.
Anyway its in the process of drying out now and I think I will
take your advice pro-pat-pending about drilling some small holes
in the bottom corners, not only for the water to escape in
future but will also help the ventilation.

I left my hardtop 88 out in the rain with sacks of garden
rubbish in it. When I had space I garaged it to dry out, 2 days
later any steel stuff in the garage was rusty and I needed a
broom with rag on it to dry the roof. Begining to think it would
be easier to build a carport than stop a Landie getting wet
inside.

My seat box gets damp and it means the jack gets rusty. Think
it's road water getting in to be honest as opposed to rain
getting in the top.
I just get everything out occasionally and WD40 it.

If it's and 88 it is probably water thrown by the rear wheel, I
get a bit around the seat belt mountings on mine.
