What every go anywhere discerning sharply dressed gent requires
is a a Tilley iron :smilewide:
Picked up this a couple of weeks ago as a bit of a novelty item,
finally got round to firing it up today. Runs on paraffin and
requires a bit of meths to get started (normal for tilley
stuff). Needs a couple of seals to be safe, but boy does it
       get hot!

LOL HHH, no it's a Tilley one and it works off of Paraffin:
Apparantley quite popular in the '50's not so in the '60's then
dying a death in the '70's with the advent of gas and
       electricity!

Handy for pressing combats in a war zone or on exercise!

This could be *really* useful for me, I'm getting fed up
trailing extension cords across my room to reach the ironing
       board.....
How much do they normally go for? And are they safe to use "in
       anger" indoors?

Matt, I really wouldn't want to use one on a permanent basis!
But I bought this one for £12, but requires a couple of seals.
Normally they're on eBay for about £30 upwards

Ash, if you can't get 240v in a warzone, they you should have
       studied harder at school! :rolleye0012:
HHH, there's laning afoot which I believe your taking part in!

it takes to last as long as 2 normal ones!
