I've been out with the pressure washer this morning.
I'm very impressed with how good the chassis is looking.

Well it's got the new wheels on, and it's had a wash, although
it's hard to tell the difference.
I've been out for a short run, and it drives well. The carb
needs a look as it's running a bit rich, but that could be the
choke as the cable has snapped.

MoD motors are quality. Being a 'KC' means its date
into service was 1984 although could be anything - the unified
tri-service series started with KA in 1982 so from this point
army, RAF and RN motors weren't segregated as they had been
       previously.

I sent off a FOI request when I got it, and obtained it's
       military history.
It spent the majority of it's time with the 249 Signal Squadron
(AMF(L)), who were based at Bulford Camp. It then moved on to 44
       Transport squadron at Sandhurst.
Someone who was in that signals squadron a couple of years after
mine left said that they went out to Norway every year on
excercise, which explains why it's winterised.

I was in the AMF(L) until '97 and it was rare to take the
landys, we had a fleet of BV 206 for over there....
Anyway, must have been one of the few that went
We used to spend 3/4 months there a year, and do a stint
somewhere sunny later in the year; Turkey was a fave on NATOs
southern flank. Not a bad gig :rolleye0012:
