Those "artic patrol" spec heaters are sodding powerful, enjoy it
this winter! I've been in a lightweight fitted with one on a day
with ambient temp around 1 or 2 degrees. After 3 minutes the
heater had to be turned off as we were too hot!
       [/quote]
Yes it's very hot, even on a cold day with the expanse of a 109
to warm it was off after 5 minutes.

What size radiator does the arctic heater have?

I'm not sure to be honest, I've not had a poke about yet.

The wife has suggested that it might want cleaning up a bit so
the scrap man doesn't think it's for taking away :o

So here's a couple of proper pictures now he's arrived home.

First purchase was a set of Michelin XZLs. They'll be on at the
       weekend.

Today I fitted new door locks, as it only came with the ignition
keys, and I didn't like the idea of it being open.

In the back was the army number plate, so I'll get my email off
the MOD later to find out it's history

Very nice, is it 24v? (I think it has FFR wings)

Looks quite interesting, would be interested in knowing the
history as I have seen those boxes on the back window like that
before on Satellite Detachments. The heater should have extra
pipes that are basically oversized demisters to go on each of
the windows (4 in total I think, 2 for the fronts, 2 for the
       sides)
Anyhoo, top job, good find and keep us posted!

Yes it's a 24v. There's some wiring under the flaps on the
wings, which I'm guessing would be for the box things that go on
the wings. There's also some electrical boxes and stuff inside
it, which mean nothing to me so I'll post some pics up at the
       weekend.
