I could be wrong but the green book now says that you must have
a spring acting directly on the throttle spindle as in line with
MSA blue book regs.
If your carb already has a spring set up in this way so that in
the event of throttle linkage failure it closes then you should
be hunky dory and don't need 2 springs. Best check that the
Scrutineer is from the correct century though and knows this.

It'd be in the tdi'd 88, so would be in a modified class. Trying
to think where to fit a second spring.

When I used to trial with P&D you also needed a fire
extinguisher (aaaf type if I recall ) to be within reach.
P&D meet at the Grouse Inn nr Frogget edge the same nights as
the S2 club meet.

Hi Lucy, Standard leaf sprung class 2 covers diesel engines
2287cc to 2495cc so you should be run with the other standard
leafers.
If you run in the TYRO trials first you will get a good feel of
whats going on and can concentrate on the gates and the turning
circle of your landy. You can then move onto the RTV trials when
your confident as the ground is MUCH more challenging. Yes you
will need a 1.75 litre AFFF fire extinguisher accessible from
the drivers seat for RTV trials.
Just turn up and you can enter a TYRO event on the day. The club
will check over your motor and give you plenty of advice.

My advice would be to get out there and ave a go ;D great fun
with like minded peeps

Me and Luke are going to have a crack at this sort of thing if
when the Beast gets fixed up. What are we looking at with a
3.0V6, fuel tank in the back with the rad etc..?

mmmmm Ford V6? ALRC regulations state that all parts used must
be made by Land Rover / Rover.
Have a butchers at the ALRC green book for regs, section B
covers engine types.

Failing that you could always look into the AWDC (all wheel
drive club) which take all makes of vehicle, of which I have no
knowledge of ;-)

That's partly what's stopped me in the past. The 88 had a
transit lump and the 101 has a Detroit locker
