Am ready to fit my 200tdi into my new galv rolling chassis,
question: is it easier to fit engine then gearbox or gearbox
       then engine??
       Thanks guys

I fitted engine then gearbox, gearbox is lighter than engine and
easier to maneuver about to get it to line up

If there is no bulkhead etc in the way, and your crane will lift
the lot, fit the gearbox to the engine, then lift them into the
       chassis as a unit ;)

I found 4 lengths of M10 rod very useful in pulling the 2 halves
together. I did gearbox first and agree it would be easier to
       waggle a box 8)

I did this job yesterday. First I made sure the clutch plate
fitted on the gearbox so it would be easier when fitting
together, then I fitted engine and box, then lifted as one onto
       the chassis.

Have sort of got them fitted but gearbox won't go all the way
in, shaft is into splines bit not going all the way in, think
the clutch isn't properly aligned. Looking for an input shaft so
I can align it properly. Anyone got one in County Durham I could
borrow for a couple of days??
