A trip to Blanchards and the NRM

We went to have a look around Blanchard's yesterday, having
never been before. I could of spent hours poking about in the
       yard, it's a treasure trove.
Here's a few pics, not the greatest quality due to my phone not
       being the best.

Then it was on to the National Railway Museum.
I don't know the proper name for them, but they had all the
surviving Mallard type trains there. It was really quite a
       sight to see.

No purchases yet, but a 109 is likely to be heading my way soon

I'd love one of the ambulance rear bodies to make into a decent
       camper! Gah, cash....

Question but what are those 109's like chassis wise? If they
haven't see much mileage and salt I wonder if just being sat
they're not bad underneath? Or am I being far too optimistic?

I don’t know about those specific ones, but an ex mil chassis
from there costs about 400 quid, usually wants one or two
       patches welding but otherwise good.

They were quite varied, but some were quite good

Didn't realise they had so many left!
Still haven't managed to get to see the A4s together....

How much is he asking for the ambulances now? I went about 6
years ago after someone told me they were £500. Like hell they
were! Prices started at £800 and that was for the real shitters
with bits missing. Apparently he bought those ambulances for
fifty quid a piece, the robbing git!

There's only 4 ambulances left and they're all left hookers.
They've been doing around a grand on eBay
