This popped up on a Land Rover group on Facilebook earlier and I
thought it may interest you:

There is also a link to a video of it in action that *should*
work without being logged in:

Whether or not you agree with the concept of such tech finding
its way onto a leafer, you have to admire the ingenuity of the
man 8)
(I'm on the fence - for every part of me that thinks "oo-err,
thats a bit.... modern" there is another part that recalls 6
people standing in pouring rain whist I frantically find each
door's key and unlock it :haha: )

Nice and simple, I like that. There are many things I find
unnecessary in more recent vehicles, but that's not one of them
- certainly in the rain, when you have a small child in one arm,
various accoutrements in t'other and SWMBO is standing there
tapping her foot, pressing a button in your pocket is a damn
sight easier than fumbling around trying to get the correct key.

Yep I agree, some things are just common sense acceptable, if
they make your life a little easier and help you run/keep your
series truck for longer rather than changing it out for
something more modern because it's easier to live with then
bring it on.... TDI if you are using it every day for work "if
it float's your boat" central locking if putting kids/shopping
in the truck in the rain.. Many on here may say it's :gay: and
maybe it is in the hardcore Series Land rover world? but I would
consider fitting them :rolleye0012:
We need some part numbers, supplier and price me thinks :-?

Why not just fit Defender steel doors, then you get windy
windows

I think you will find the best way is to have no locks at all,
or exterior handles! :rolleye0012:

Why on earth have locks.
I've got a canvas full tilt, so really can't see the point of
ever locking it.

Just use really old locks, then you can operate all the locks on
the vehicle with the handle of a spoon, one big "key" thats
almost impossible to lose... rofl
