I know it's a little early yet, but so far, Dougal's passenger
seat is going begging. If anybody is interested in keeping it
warm all the way to BBW 2014, or even sharing the BRAKING, let
       me know. ;D

It's not my fault that you're a bloody old woman, Mark! :haha:
You still owe me for a severely dented passenger side footwell!

For the folks that have done this before, what route did you
take and over what time period? A brief click at Google maps
shows 715 miles, 12 hours-odd from Calais avoiding tolls
       (Dunkirk/Ghent/Antwerp/Eindhoven/Essen/Dortmund/Leipzig/Dresden)
dropping into the Czech Republic from the north or with tolls
       (Ghent/Brussels/Liege/Cologne/Frankfurt/Nuremberg) entering from
the west. I realise it's 6 months away but getting my head round
it now wouldn't be a bad idea. :smile1

I've got the route we took last time at home Noel but I've never
done the tolls apart from the ones in CZ where you can't avoid
       it.

We usually get the DFDS (old Norfolk Line) ferry, Dover -
Dunkirk, Noel. There is a sailing every two hours, twenty-four
hours a day. There are no tolls in France, Belgium or Germany
going that way. However it's advisable to buy a Czech carnet at
the border, if you plan on using the motorways to save some
time. I think it costs around twelve pounds, but it is possible
to get to Kutna Hora avoiding motorways. Xander and I travelled
there and back last year using satnav and (some very rough) back
       roads.

       Noel
I think you can forget the 12 hrs - ish!! It is a bloody long
way but worth every mile (km?). I think some have headed out
from the UK and just gone for it but can't see the joy in that!
I did it a couple of years back - got off the ferry at Calais in
the early hours... and drove....for too many hours really.
Overnighted in Bamberg (beautiful town) and then next day
carried on to KH. Next time (if there is one) I would take
longer to get there and take in more of the 'sights' to make the
       whole experience more 'holiday' like.
Wish I could do 2014 but have other long distance plans...in the
       planning I'm afraid!
Oh, and don't forget to see the Church of Bones in KH

Yeah there is no point doing it in one hit - see my Sig! A few
days and cheap but good campsites makes it mucho better.
One year I could not get away from work till the Thursday night,
we (stig, strang, Jon Jim and me) got off the boat at the Hook
10am Friday and landed in Kutna Hora in the early hours of
Saturday. A long way in a 2.25 diesel I wouldn't fancy it again
       in a hurry.

Lucky beggars. Starting from here we've got to get all the way
down through Englandshire before we get to the boats. Adds at
least one really dull day to any continental ferry trip,
sensibly we'd probably need to overnight somewhere as well.
       :haha:

In case the UK/NL contingent comes from the west (Nuremberg), a
Thursday night sleepover at our place would be possible - the
flooring in the rear two rooms has been laid and the heating
       works now ;-)
Saves about 130 kilometres of late afternoon/evening driving and
we can do the last leg Drozdov-Kutná hora in a leisurely pace on
       Friday morning.
