My Series One

I have owned my series one for about 15 years I think. It is a
1957 2 litre diesel, so one of the first ever diesel engined
Land Rovers. Sadly due to taking up euro-leafing, the old 2
litre diesel is not really practical, so it now has a 200 Tdi
fitted (thanks Andy). Anyway, some snaps - the first two are
prior to me owning it, and were sent to me by a former owner.

Now in my ownership - and an early Piece Hall show

Every year at MOT time the chassis would always need welding, so
since I wanted to keep it, I decided to bite the bullet and buy
a galvy chassis and rebuild it - which took an embarrassingly
long time..... :-[

Finally - after an OLLR ninja squad helped me to rescue a 200
Tdi engine (thanks lads) and Landyandy of this parish fitted it,
the series one was back on the road!

With the 200 Tdi fitted, it was now time to 'euro-leaf' and what
better place to go than Switzerland - after losing its 'ferry
cherry' first!

After the success of the Swiss trip - we nipped over to Ireland
for another trip!

yeah i did nt have an intecooler for ages then jammed one in and
it made little difference! what does though is if you put a ton
in the back the engine pulls better than empty......odd :D Nice
