here's a shot of taffy when I found her back in late 2009 a bit
neglected but still original
( i had previously owned her back in 93 and again in 95, long
story short first child came along Landy wasn't practical then
back in favor befor a another kid came along and taffy got
replaced with a metro

I spent a year of evenings and weekends, new chassis, everything
else strip, cleaned, repaired and rebuilt, engine swapped to 200
tdi,

Problem is since rebuilding taffy the wife is a bit over
sensitive about offloading and me using taffy for generally
anything that might be damaging..........., cue my excuse for
keeping another one!

It's running a 5 bearing petrol 2.25 which, when running well,
I prefer over the tdi
I've also got a 57 series one Swb, couple of early series 3 and
a stage one hcpu none of which are on the road and all in reed
of work

That's some transformation in the first 2 pics! Very nice, well
done! 8)
My dream is to have a mint leafer like that and another one that
I don't mind getting muddy and thrashed now and again.
Any chance of some pics of the other leafers??

A splendid restoration job there, but you need to take it
through some hawthorn hedges to get the proper scratches, then
you will be able to use it properly again.

Series 1 57 originality not it's strong point, 2 1/4 diesel,
tink it's still s1 box, series 2/3 axles, still it's all about
the right period

83 stage one hi cap, fairly rotten chassis, very original, no
mods, good bulkhead. Looks great on those Swb rims eh?

Thanks rob, that ill be a brave move bronze green is the
architipal landrover green!
The paint I used is enamel, I got it from the bloke in the
midlands who reackoned you could get a really good brush finish.
A guy at work is a cracking sprayer so I prep'd and primed the
panels then he gave them the top coats, he hated the enamel,
preferring to use two pack, admitily I think the two pack finish
might be more durable

That Stagey deserves respect! Surely the ultimate in Series
utility-ness V8 + hi-cap = >rock< (and as rare as an honest
copper in Downing Street).
Top find, Trebro.
