Clutch shaft connecting tube

Hi folks,I need the small piece of tube with holes either end to
connect the cluch shaft to the cylinder shaft, possibily a
'cross shaft connecting tube', I say possibly as one is priced
at £36 with a supplier and I wouldn't expect it to cost that
much! Why so expensive for a tube? or have I got my parts mixed
up? Also , if you would be so kind, do I need to change the fuel
level senders in my 24v military landy when converting to 12 v?
This seems odvious but I thought I'd ask! Thanks in
