Leather for me too ;) .... just dont tie the knot at the front
as it reduces the steering lock ::)

The instructions for the leather gaters tells you to soak them
in old engine oil before fitting them.

i was thinking off dropping some one shot grease inside them
when i fit them to help keep the leather lubed/supple and rust
off the swivels ...
good idea or not ??

As long as no grit/shit can get inside ....cant see anything but
benefit,
Keeps the leather supple and grease/oil inside SHOULD repel the
worst of any water 8)

Can't see how you could fit rubber ones without removing the
whole stub axle assembly, bit too much fannying around for my
liking.
The leather ones you can sew up in situ and a couple of hours
later the jobs a good un.

My leather instructions said Vaseline but reckon oil would be
just as good .... sounds like a good mix, leather vaseline and
oil ;D

I thought the rubber ones are split along their length and are
glued together once installed, although I have known to be wrong
on one occasion.
