S1 body onto s2 chassis?

Hi,
I have had the workshop manuals out, along with a ruler and my
sharpest crayon, but still can't work it out so I thought
someone else might know the answer........
I know that the wheelbases of the 88" S1 and S2 chassis are
obviously the same but will the earlier body fit onto the later
chassis with everything pretty much in the right place? I am
aware that i'd need to glue some outriggers on etc.
My main concern is that the front axle would not be in the right
place in relation to the wheelarch.
Any ideas?

I have seen a couple done and with 88 S1 wings it looks OK. The
bulkhead outriggers are obviously different and they both had S2
style pendant pedals.

The plan is to make an off road "toy" so I don't really want to
cut about or bodge a nice S1.
Could you tell that they had a different chassis on them? And
did the axles look "right" in the arches. Only reason I ask is
that you said that the ones you have seen done looked ok but not
good?

I think the best bet would be to take a series 2 chassis and
weld on some Radford series one bulkhead outriggers and go from
there. That way the width will be correct.
If the rear crossmember is bad they do those as well which would
dress it up nicely.
