Raining on the inside....

Not a particularly technical question but has anyone actually
achieved the nirvana of preventing the little gutter on the
inside of the roof filling with rain water and then depositing
it onto the drivers lap while negotiating a left hand bend......
I have tried sealant applied to the outside - I have lined the
roof to eliminate or at least reduce condensation - I have kept
the gutters clear of leaves and dirt as well as clearing out the
drain holes on the corners. However heavy rain last night and
the internal gutter is full again and the floors and doors a
soaking.....
Any great ideas apart from removing the roof and going for a rag
top.....

Have you checked the outer gutter for loose rivets?

Sounds like you have a standard Land Rover. I did make some
improvement to mine by sealing, but nothing seems to last long
before it leaks again.

Got the same problem but with a twist...
It also rains from all seams in the roof!
I was thinking that using some sealant and sealing all seams
from the inside?
After that gluing some insulation to the inside to stop
condensation.
Any one with experience in doing that?

Sealed mine inside and out with Tiger Seal. Was crap. Removed it
and sealed with clear silicone on all roof joints and gutters, a
lot better still leaks though. Found a good solution, leave it
in the garage and it stays dry.

Ha - Have just moved it to the garage - need to do some
essentials before the next MOT....No rain on the inside now....

I've taken to leaving a old plastic container on the floor to
catch drips when its parked up... :smilewide:

You're obviously not dressing right for a leafer driver.....
Winter: Oilskins and souwester
Summer: Skiddies and flip flops.
That way, the deluge can't hurt you ;D

You obviously need some downpipes for your guttering.
Run a couple of pipes down the windscreen/B piller/rear corner

my garage door isn't high enough to get it in :banghead
But it's just a 3cm difference that will soon be resolved!
but I must admit I like the downpipe idea.... :confused:
