Leigh Arms steam party!

An annual event, at the Leigh Arms, south of Warrington, and
near to Weaverham. Always some good stuff there, although we got
there late afternoon, so a few engines had left by then in an
effort to get home before nightfall, as quite a few come under
their own steam (no pun etc.....)

I take it you were there on the Sunday then Strang?
I was there on the Saturday with my traction engine,
unfortunately I only got about an hour's steaming before the
fucking thing packed up quite spectacularly :smiley-furious:
Nevertheless, it was a great little do with plenty of
interesting exhibits to look at and people to talk to to while
away the rest of the day. Quite a decent leafer turnout too: as
well as spotting what turned out to be an utterly fake
"prototype" 1-ton, I had a brief chat with a lady who owns the
124th production 80" which was a properly nice bit of leaferage
:)

Yes - there on Sunday after a trip to Ellesmere for the weekend.
That 80" is in the photo above - with the tiger on the roof. She
usually goes to the 1000 Engine Rally and Astle Part steam rally
- do you go to these as well??
