Paint or Patina?

Time to make a decision on paint and I really can't decide....
???
Front panel, Bulkhead, rear tub and door tops will have to be
painted but should i leave the rest rough looking as it was?
I might have to strip the layer of celulose off to get back to
the original paint.
here is an idea what it might look like posh

If it could all be left, then patina would be my vote.
However, once you paint one or two panels, it just looks wrong -
as if you're part way through restoring it, so I'm afraid I
would suggest painting the lot.

Get it on the road in "Patina" then you can decide/do the last
bit of painting as/when you feel like it.

Is it the original paint?? If so keep it as you'll never get it
back again. It's amazing what T cut can do.
If it's been painted and it's a poor job that won't clean up
then I'd probably paint it to be honest.

No help to our question, I know (and in no way a reference to
your vehicle); but I am always amazed at the shagged out
dilapidated mess that some people attempt to pass of as
'patina'.
Patina a term used to describe the cumulative effects of the
gentle ageing and weathering of materials which develops slowly
over a period of time, and is the hall-mark of a much cherished
and well cared for vehicle.
Such a steed will usually be wearing its original livery which
has subtly and delicately aged in a manner that is nigh-on
impossible to replicate (and thus highly desirable). Patina is
usually (or bloody well should be) synonymous with great
originality, as well as a series of careful owners.
I don't know how many times I have seen a dented, rusting, tatty
old hulk mistakenly described as having 'lovely patina'; when
what they really mean to say is that the vehicle has been used,
abused and generally unloved throughout the majority of it's
life.

It could depend on the area you live in, my last address patina
= abandoned and fair game for scrotes the to damage and break
into.

I echo the comments of Mr scruff if its the original paint do
what you can to keep it you wont get it back. If its not
original then giving it a freshen and tidy up is a good thing to
do

Thanks for the advice and objective views wooden very helpful
plenty to think about :-?
Paint is not original but the layer of cellulose over the top is
peeling off the original and that seems to have a nice lived in
look with it thinning on the corners. (like me)
There is also an element of CBA and wanting to get it on the
road, suppose I could try strip a wing back to the original
paint and see what it looks like?
I just don't want it to look too over restored.
