Been working on the 80 inch today

Been working on the 80 inch today, re fitting the heater the
last bit to go back after removing it and a whole lot of other
bits to rebuild the gearbox. Been enjoying reading Classic Land
Rover over the last few months, not sure about the nasty modern
vehicles with wierd springs though, I drive an 88 as my daily
driver can't see why anyone would want anything else personally.
PS might be a bit chuffing thick but how do you load a picture
up, the interweb dosn't respond to whitworth spanners and
sockets so I find it a we bit beyond me.

Figure that out, will ya' :)
Its cooling off and I'd like to see the plumbing of your heater
"control" valve before I try to make this old one fit ;)

It's called an old brass tap and bit of 1/2 inch copper pipe,
some jubillee clips and it hasn't leaked in 20 years so I guess
it works even if it isn't how Rover planned it! :)

For your photo's you will need a photobucket account. Upload
your pics to there. Once you've done that click on the picture
you want to upload then on the left hand side there should be a
little box that says img code, left click that and it should say
copied. Come back to where you want the photo on here, right
click then left click paste. Hey presto you have a relative
called Robert! >Htlr<

I've had the '53 for three years now...the heater, valve, etc
are in a box.
What I'm curious about is fitting the valve in the thermostat
housing.
The valve looks like it will fit in the smaller of the two
threaded openings...but I think it's really intended to go in
the larger one.
If I were on your Little Green Island, I'd pop in to the
plumbing shop and grab a bushing to make it fit...turns out that
I'm over here on the "wrong" side of the pond though.
I'll just fit it into the smaller port and see if hot water
comes out :)
