So the engine is toast then?? ???
       [/quote]
I'll be honest mate, I've no idea. It's got an alloy sump and
the fork had knocked a fair size hole in the bottom. I don't
know whether the crank took a whack or not as, being a bit of a
poof, I wasn't about to lie in all the cowshit it was parked
over so as to take a closer look. :rolleye0012: :smile1
I remember asking my dad if we could drive it around the field
when I was a kid, and I'm sure he said the head gasket was
blown. Craig has told me that he moved it under it's own steam
several times though, but that it was only ever for short
distances and at a walking pace as the brakes didn't work.
Whatever, it's not run for thirty odd years, and it's sat
outside in all weathers all that time. I'm not saying it's
knackered, because you'd have to strip it to be sure, but let's
face it - it's likely to be in need of a lot of love. That said,
it did six years work on local deliveries and the clock is
showing 88K. There was plenty of oil still in it too, as it's
spread all the way from one side of the barn to the other!
I need to keep it until I know one way or the other what's
happening with getting a registration sorted out as all the bits
DVLA consider to make up the identity of a vehicle are all there
in one piece; and have obviously been together for a very long
time. Once I have that piece of paper though, the plan has
always been to put a 5.9 Cummins in there instead. If by then
you still want it, you'd be welcome to it for whatever it'd make
weighed in. I can't see me doing anything else with it than
that. Kent is a long way to come to collect a boat anchor though
and I wouldn't want you wasting your time and diesel on a fool's
       errand.
The gearbox is probably ok though. ;D

Thanks for that.... cos... I'm attempting to do a deal to get
hold of the engine and box out of a recent eBay purchase by
someone on Feckbook. It's a FC with Austin 3 litre engine and
either a Champ or a Gipsy transmission. Either way, it would fit
together somehow. I even have a BMC 2.2 to drag bits off if
       needed to bolt it together.

       Today's update...
Had a call back from the transport company who, having seen
pictures of the collection and delivery locations, and of the
chassis, have quoted me £325 + the dreaded VAT to move it for
       me. Works out at £390.
So it's booked. Next tuesday is "D" day.
I'll be back with pictures of the move once it's done. :)

low-loader or a beaver tail to help you out, Good luck with the
       move all the same .

Unfortunately most of my mates are into much smaller stuff,
although I do know a couple of people that might have been able
to help. The main problem for me is working around my shifts and
finding others who's free time coincides with mine. At the end
of the day it's easier to get a haulier in to do it as a paid
job than wait for various planets to align just to save a few
quid. With the recent damage I just want it out of there ASAP.
D-day is now Thursday 25th. Hopefully it won't slide any more as
work aren't good at last minute annual leave changes.

That is an arse, I think anyone who has owned a 'Snatch' will
feel for you myself included. Mine had both props bent thanks to
(allegedly) the Withams forklift and it seems many others
suffered the same fate. It wouldn't matter if the props were
standard, which they aren't, and I had the last front prop from
TheXMod. £250 for a pair of props, a load of time wasted
researching what was needed and all down to completely avoidable
       carelessness.

Anyone near Bradford and feeling brave?
By: GlenAnderson Date: September 22, 2014, 4:38 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Evening all.
I have a tip, backed up by some google earth images, that there
is at least one noddy van lying in a yard off Paley Road in
Bradford. The info I have is that it's a showman's yard, and
it's down a short road called Birnam Grove at BD4 7EN.
Anyone live nearby and know of it and can get me some contact
details? Or close enough to scout it out for me?
       Cheers, Glen.
PS, it looks like a pretty rough and ready area on google earth,
I don't want anyone putting themselves in harm's way!

Is this it on streetview? looks about right to me.
I will keep a note of the postcode if I am working anywhere near
I may call in depending how brave I am feeling, but not
promising anything it will just depend if it fits in with a job
in the area could be a while though.

Yes mate, that's the place. There's no rush, and I definitely
don't want anyone going somewhere they're uncomfortable with. If
you find yourself in the vicinity, and have the time I'd be
grateful, but don't put yourself out.
My current master plan involves getting a V5 for mine, or
getting a final answer that I can't, before I do anything else.
Once the hardstand is done, I'll know whether or not the chassis
is a saveable proposition, and will begin making serious moves
to source a donor/pattern vehicle. I might well just take a few
days and come up myself, as there's the pair in Scamblesby that
I was alerted to at the start of this thread.
Anyway, thanks for the reply, much appreciated. ;D
