       Centre dash panel.

In the throes of putting the upper dash together on the diesel
88", which is a very late model. As such, it has a few things
which don't appear on earlier models, like a main dash located
low fuel light, as well as a handbrake warning lamp and
fog-light switch/warning lamp, these latter two of which are
       located in the centre dash.
Now, I have the wiring diagram, so that's no stress; but I could
do with a picture of the central dash/instrument panel of a late
Series 3 (not Stage One, as that has a diff lock lamp).
I'm also not sure if it should have hazards, although I can find
no tracers for the switch. However, I do have a hazard switch
       and can fit if needed.
Any help will be gratefully received, as I'm going to be
drilling the blank right hand side of a LHD Stagey one and
covering over the holes from the stuff I don't need on the left
face. It won't be rivet-perfect, but will be as functional as it
will need to be. Better still, if anybody has a spare centre
panel for such a late RHD model as I have, I'll happily come to
       an arrangement of fair exchange.
       Tchiaz!!!

       Evening Drew,
I have long been researching the same thing, as nearly all the
bits are missing from my centre panel. Whilst at a steam show
this summer I managed to snap an interior dash shot of a
concours station wagon that shows all the correct locations -
when I go home this weekend I will retrieve my camera, and if
its still on the memory card I'll put it up for you

I reckon Harry Hedge Hog is the man for this, his motor is a
beacon of how it should be!

I think you're right, Kev...same year as mine. Problem is, any
pictorial data would be obscured greatly by Quorn sausages and
nut roasts draped from the dash.
       Would appreciate any snaps, Matthew.
I think it will turn out only to be an orange pull/push fog rear
fog light (plus possibly one for the front, if chosen as an
option), as well as a square warning light to inform of
handbrake activation. After that on a bog-standard S3 of the
time, I think it will be rubber in-fill grommets.

       Nugg's got a diesel on a Y plate, too, equally un-fucked with. I
don't think they had a handbrake light - my '83 HCPU didn't and
neitherererer did my grandad's '84 truck cab. What the CSWs had
       I know not.

I shall have a quick look through photobucket 'archive' of pics,
failing that , it'll have to wait till the morrow or until
someone else has better lighting in their garage.......

Well I've certainly got spade-end cables leading to the middle,
with the brake light corresponding one.
The thing about the fogs (certainly fronts) my memory of a
       rewire a couple of years ago is of a right LSD trip of colours;
so I'm going to need to go all magnifying glass on the wiring
diagram to find out what I have.
Good news is, I've found an Ebay seller who has some top-notch
after-market one-piecers, with blank faces so you can drill out
what you actually need according to harness. And fortune
presents you with the opportunity to lob in a 12v socket or two
whilst you're at it and keep it neat 8)

       Hello Drew,
Is this any good, although its from a 2.25 petrol, not diesel,
       on a W plate
I don't think the upper right blue rocker switch is original as
it operates a rear light fitted at the back of the hard top.

I remember now. It's a brake circuit warning light/test switch.

       Best I've got I'm afraid.
On the centre dash. Bottom right is an illuminated fog light
switch, above that is a red light ( ??????) Top left is a
warning shizzle for the safety shuttle for the brakes ( which
doesn't work, nor the shuttle is suspect) . Bottom left was
       blank.
Does that make sense; its how it came to me so not sure if its
       right

If that red light at top right was a hand brake warning light ,
there isn't any corresponding wiring anywhere the handbrake
       levers etc. .....
