Sorry, meant to type. The picture of the S1 with the caravan.
It's from a website IIRC... the family bought it secondhand,
       fabricated up a tent, etc.
They bought a caravan which was sent by rail, and they proceeded
to overland to Africa. Pretty interesting story.
Just wish I could find the website again.
Only thing I can remember is the author saying Michelin tyres
(surely unusual for a S1?) suffered no punctures at all.

       Hi,
How about the MT section at RAF Sharjah (two hoots and a holler
from Dubai) circa 1961. We had, I think, three or four S1 86",
an S1 ambulance that the ambulance driver crashed into the MT
yard gate post, an 80" fire tender (that caught fire while in
       it's garage) ... a brand new 88" S2 delivered while I was there
... promptly claimed by the CO. I think one of the photos shows
it parked up un the concrete ramp.
I was driving at night, leaning foreward, looking for an
obstacle that I knew was there, somewhere. The Land Rover found
it. Four front teeth bent back (Luckily the army dentist was
paying his annual visit, up country, from Aden), and a
corresponding lump out of the steering wheel. Chiefie noticed
the front axle was bent, but too ,late to blame me.
