Disklok..?

I was thinking about getting a Disklok steering wheel cover for
my series 3. Does anyone know if they fit ok to a standard
series 3 steering wheel and if they're as good as they claim?

The standard size one doesn't quite fit : You need a large one.
I've been using one for 15 years on various Land-Rovers. With
the number of Land-Rovers being nicked, I think you'd be mad not
to take some precautions. No matter how much of a banger your
Land-Rover is, it's worth taking precautions.
I sold my Series 3 109" 6-pot to a friend. It was worth less
than a grand. Some kids tried to nick it for joy-riding, but
they couldn't get it started. They didn't realise I'd fitted a
battery isolator switch. They even tried bump starting it down
the hill he lived on, but lost control and crashed it through a
brick wall into a neighbours garden. The police recovered the
vehicle to their pound, and charged my mate £175 for the
privilidge. Not a scratch on it when he got it back, apart from
a smashed steering lock and ignition barrel. His insurance
excess was more than the £200, so he didn't claim off insurance.
The neighbour was very understanding and claimed for the wall
off their house insurance.

I have a steering wheel lock by Stronghold It covers half the
steering wheel and a long arm coming off to the windscreen Also
have two isolators fitted

I've one on the Mini, I don't know how long it would last if
someone was determined they were having your car, I take the
view that joy riding opportunist scrotes will choose the easiest
looking option.

I've put a gate lock under the handbrake, and a battery cut off,
this coupled with a m/c security chain through the steering
wheel and round the pedals would delay all but the most
determined toe-rag equipped with a tow truck. possibly
:-?

This arrangement is tested frequently, i.e every time I
attempt to drive off in a hurry :haha:

I do like the look of that, I've been toying with making a steel
horseshoe type device to jam the OD in neutral where the shaft
goes in to the box.

put the od in neutral and then unscrew the lever, most scotes
would be will fucked as to why it wont go.

I have done that a few times in the past when I've parked some
where away from home.
Starter relay out bullok on pedals and OD lever off, if you
wan't it you'll need to work for it or tow it.
