How to stop brake cylinders siezing?

Morning
The series has had all new wheel cylinders etc, but as it isn't
always my daily drive it does spent sometime stood.
I have had one cylinder sieze up which I have freed, but is
there any way of keeping the pistons lubricated to stop
corrosion? What is best to use?

Never sure if it is the correct stuff, but I use the Red grease
that sometimes comes with the seal kits.

quick ( and controlled ) spray of gt85 into a fully compressed
cylinder works for me again not sure if its the correct thing
to do though

Red rubber grease - plenty of different sizes of tins on ebay

you can use Brake expander grease it a gray / green and made for
the job

Yeah, the routine with I had when overhauling braking systems
was to peel back the dust cover on the end of the slave
cylinder(s) then to fill it/them with the dark red/maroon
Castrol Rubbergrease. In my opinion it certainly extended
cylinder and seal life. It was supposed to be non hygroscopic
and compatible with both brake fluid and (obviously) the rubber
used for brake seals and shrouds/covers.

Hm despite being daily driver still get rear pistons seizing,
mainly cos they are steel cylinders... i tap/hammer them free
and then use wd40 but again they seize after few months, now
adjusted them and they seem fine. though i really should get to
remove the wheels and check visually.
but thanks for the tip , i will try red/rubber grease:)

I also think you can 'over' adjust the brakes. This gives them
so little movement they sieze up easier.
I will get some red grease from the local parts palace and see
if that stops it!
