That No 1 Burner brings back a few toasty memories - Have you
got the plate thingies that fitted into the trench Icey ?
       Great bit of kit.

Sadly not mate ...I think I was lucky to manage to find a No1 in
       working order(ish),
I did have one of these for a while too ..."Benzinkocker"

Theres someone flogging a couple of them on the 'bay and a WW2 (
supposedly) box that they might fit in to do something very
similar to the No 1 burner.

I can't remember the exact design of the plates on a No 1 burner
but I remember the result being maybe 5-6 ft long, with open or
closed holes that the dixies could be sat over. The skilled
cabbage mechanic could judge the right place to put the Dixie to
achieve "warm", simmer or roasting. I mind being pissed wet
through one night and standing by the burner for maybe 5-10
minutes I was bone dry again, even a tad melted...

From Rangie over on LRCC forum giving a quick overview of the
       Number 2 burners:
       [quote="Rangie"]
       Hi, a crash course:
No2 Mk1 - Made by crosslands or british safety stoves,
demountable tank for storage, tank/vapouriser hangs off side of
case and inserts inside burner, roarer burner, from the mid 30's
       till approx 1939.
No2 Mk2 - Made by turley and williams and various others to the
same design, unregulated roarer burner, with long needle valve
beneath, tin/asbestos heat shield, approx 1939 to mid-1970s.
       No2 Mk2 Modified - mid-1970s till early 1990s, (latest I've seen
is 1992), regulated silent burner, stainless heat shield.
No2 Mk2 Upgraded to Mk2 Modified - Turley and Williams etc,
Happened late 70s by addition of the regulated silent burner and
blanking off of the feed/needle valve tube.
       Hope this helps.
       Alec
       ps, Yours is a No2 Mk2 upgraded to No2 Mk2 Modified.....

       Thanks :smilewide:

Looking at these excellent reviews and being a person of the
less practical sort I think I will need to find me a proper
men's burner - love the tidy (although bulky) Swiss Army cooker:

       Number Two
I haven't got the pan set, so I've had to make do with some
other pan, this is a medium sized pan so you can see the scale!

Not sure how they are for price etc but have a deeks at the

I've never seen one before, to be honest, but a quick Google
search revealed that this is 1960's stuff, so a period accessory
too, although you would ideally need a Skoda, Wartburg or
       Trabant to accompany this :smilewide:

Stuey, just to add to the list of things you want and I have
(triangular rear reflectors, metal water jerrycans etc) I do
have to complete pan set for the number 2 cooker to go with my
number 2 cooker, but at least I now know how to use it thanks to
       you
