Temp sender for 300tdi

Ringo has purchased a temp sender from steve parker for his 300
tdi but the adapter only fits a 200tdi engine so is unusable due
to the difference in thread size is there any other way to
monitor the temp of a 300 in his s3 motor.

What's wrong with the original sender - reads high or low?

I take it he has tried fitting the series 3 sender straight into
the 300Tdi? Hodgy sent me an adaptor when I fitted the Debender
200 Tdi into Ralph but didnt actually need the adaptor as the
threads were the same so might be the same for a 300Tdi

That's how mine reads - I keep on meaning to try a resistor in
line to take it down to N, but not bothered so far.
Mine's a 200TDi, but I fitted a green spot 300TDi sender (can't
remember what the 200TDi sender read) on an S2 gauge.
I've also got a thermostatic switch for the fan which lights a
bulb on the dash, so when that comes on (very rarely) I keep an
eye on the gauge.
It's gone up into the red with the fan on, but never to the top
of the red, so I'm happy to leave it like that.
