He used to have some LR in the southwest part of Norway.
He wants 5000NOK for it.
It would be nice to have both PTO and overdrive.

Hydraulic or mechanic?
What condition is it in?
complete incl. complete linkage and dog clutch?
If "as found and stored for any length of time" I would say too
expensive... :rolleye0012: even more so, if any tiny bit is
missing.
I do have a hydraulic bottom PTO and refurbished it completely
with all new bearings (had to have them made - same as the small
early transfer intermidate shaft bearings)
and gaskets (all handmade sort of) and still some missing bits
from the linkage.
The hydrulic pump has received a complete new seal kit from a
hydrualic specialist (at a price again)
The hydraulic connections were shotblasted, galvanized and
powdercoated.

Its not exactly cheap to get them back to working conditions, if
they have been removed and stored since a couple of years (which
typically is the case)
But they have been on the market for more:

You money-your choice I guess..... as there are none available
and there is not really a big need for them, its simply nothing
sold and bougt on a regular base whcih would enable somebody to
actually tell a value - so it depends on what you are prepared
to pay for "having it".
If its a hydraulic PTO check if its got the correct pump with
it, as those bottom pumps need to turn the other way round
compared to the ones used at the standard PTO exit!
The hydraulic one's seem to be slightly "rarer" compared to the
mechanical ones, but as said, both are not really available in a
big number.

couple of months ago.
saw one on ebay complete with pipework, Land rover hydraulic
winch, and pto and pump and lever going for 1800 sterling. i
really dreamed of having it since my dad's 109 had it at some
point in time. but i was outbid :(

The unusual PTO stuff I'm a big fan of for that reason, just
because it's unusual. Some of it goes for mental money, I do
remember seeing a rear summat-or-other (capstan winch maybe?)
for a series one go for best part of five thousand of your
British pounds on eBay. TrueS2 is quite right, value is a bit
like asking how long's a piece of string. In all honesty a
better way to spend that sort of cash is to mate a recon 5 speed
main box to a series transfer and use a standard PTO.

Without being a curmudgeon, in a "75% of our products are still
on the road" vein, I'd guess that 90% of PTO equipment fitted to
land-rovers (other than overdrives) rarely turns a gear. Infact,
I'd go further and say of that 90%, 90% is nailed to show
ponies. This would explain the high prices attracted because the
buyers are effectively collector/investors. Nowt wrong with that
if that's your thing but when someone actually wants one for
work it's a bit of a shitter to know that the country's stock is
held by people who enjoying polishing rivets and for whom the
bubbles blown up their arses at classic car shows is a sad
replacement for inadequately sized genitalia and a wife who
seeks pleasure elsewhere...

Just to prove that I am not of that sort, here is a pic of the
S2 using the mechanical PTO at least.... :giddy:

and the Capstan Winch has been put to use in the woods quite
frequently in winter time.
I have to admit that I am still missing the table saw for the
flat belt pulley.... *help*

Thanks for the info and great pictures TruesS2.
I think i'l pass on the bottom pto and use my Koenig pto winch.
I can't hav pto and overdrive. Maybee 255 85 16 tyres will be
the way to go.
Lovely pictures of a true workhorse still in use TrueS2.
