       Hole in the ground

well as you all know i had a fantastic weekend at T'Pit aided
and abetted by all you wonderful folk along with Lucy giving me
the biggest grin by letting me drive her 101 (even if it did
       cough and splutter lots)
anyway back to the subject title, I (loosely) got to see a
spider (fucking huge even though you'll struggle to see it)

and found some of Snow Whites workers still hard at it

although thier equipment was a little past it's best

some of the woodwork looked to have seen slightly better days

but for all the "iffy" bits and odd finds there was some quite
interesting bulges/textures and water modifications so hopefully
a few of you will like the next few pictures

ok i think that's about all that might be of interest and most
of them probably didn't come out as good as was hoped (i'd only
just got the camera) but i certainly enjoyed myself in there
even when they all buggered off and left me on my own  , a
very new experience for me outside of having done a little
caving some years ago, Thanks for taking me lads

If it's still there and hasn't been sealed or just collapsed in
on itself! I ought to point out that this isn't down the mine at
the museum. It's a long-abandoned coal mine on private land. I
could tell you where it is but then I'd have to kill you.
We had to blindfold Pete on the way there, which was a bit of a
problem cos he was doing the driving. :smilewide:

It's probably collapsed in on itself by now ...IF not then I'm
sure the C/A will be around shortly to fill it in .
They don't like folks poking around in old "coil oils"

That spider looks like a cave spider Pete! they are getting quit
rare now, I think there are some in the old lead mines in the
Dales, Well there use to be when I use to go pot holeing in the
       90s.
       All the best Gordon

yes, the name of "cave spider" was mentioned, i just took that
as a generic name or something to sucker me in with :haha: so
       kept quiet rofl
i don't mind spiders but won't pick the nasty things up, i'm not
into creepy crawlies although i don't mind looking at them, a
mate once offered to get one of his Goliaths out for me, i
offered to squeal and stamp on it if he did, he then nicely kept
it in its glass box where it was safe (ish)
