electrical gremlins

Lost my lights and wipers and its blowing fuses. Ive checked the
switchs,feed live and earth and they seam fine so f**k knows.

usually live wire shorting to earth between switchs and lights
or wipers, most probably where cable passes through a panel or
where cable clipped to panel. so that when you turn switch on
the live feed goes straight to earth and blows fuse.

Right thanks i will check that. It sound like it could be that
as its been intermittent today as ive been trying to sort it.

I would
Disconnect the battery, connect a meter between earth and the
live terminal on the fuse that keeps blowing (the side going
towards the lights etc).
Switch the meter to test for continuity (beep) if it has it or
resistance.
Systematically work your way around the loom gently wiggling the
wires, if you find the problem the meter will detect it without
blowing a fuse every time, you should be able to narrow it down.
It could also be a faulty wiper motor or similar so try the
switches of the various items and check resistance for a proper
dead short, hope this helps.
