After much ado i have pulled out my finger and started swapping
out the old DI for TDI >rock<
not to much to show as i didn't take the camera up to my mates
unit and my phone is crap
       before photos

progress atm the old lump was dragged out the original mounts
were wrong for the 200 so cut them off and fab'd up new fittings
using the disco brackets so hopefully this will reduce some of
the shake :-? to save fucking around i have ordered a pre made
exhaust down pipe off ebay ( not cheap but the quality is
something else and anyone thinking about buying one i would
highly recommend it) i need to get fully plumped up, make a
heat shield for the turbo as i cut some of the inner wing, fanny
around with the radiator and inter cooler ( not 100% were i am
going with that but trying to keep it all close so there's not
pipes going all over the place ) i am thinking about sticking
the alternator were the AC pump should live ? that way gives a
bit more room for the inter cooler , i have nicked some old
exhaust bits from the local Tyre fitters so there should be some
dampening but more for looks than effect. then fingers crossed
the bloody thing runs as it was bought untested wagfinger
has anyone kept the fan on there 200's i think there's probably
room on mine, i know they run cold but seams daft to hack this
off then worry and end up fitting an electric one just in case
       :banghead
anyway i will plod on and see how things go as so far everything
seams fine so far which always scares me

Impressed, to say the least! Did you make the van back yourself?
Very interested as something I've thought of for for my 107. If
you did, a few tips on materials, methods used would be
       appreciated.
My 107 has TD, and thinking along same lines as your tdi
conversion as a winter project. Jim.

       cheers for the comments
the old engine came out of a transit van i didn't think anyone
would fancy the transplant as tdi's are a much better option so
i stuck it on ebay last night hoping to get an offer i put it on
for £175 being a bit cheeky and bugger me within 45mins it sold
:smilewide: ( it's being paid for and is going out to africa )
the box back is made from marine ply wood and aluminium uprights
all fixed with stainless bolts, the roof is also aluminium it's
a mobile oven in this weather, i am seriously thinking about
putting the old tub back on with a tilt so if that does happen
your welcome to the old one ( it's bumped and bruised but very
usable and an easy tidy up job, even for a can't be arsed do it
       later swine like me)
i will try to get more photos as it progresses but with work and
       nice weather CBA

engines. Anyhoo, didn't realise you got the old tub with it,
       which is good

A bit odd, just sold my old v8 out of the Stagey through ebay
and that is alo going out to Africa (Kenya). Was a bit pissed as
said pick up only and ended up putting it on a pallet for
       collection...

Make sure you guys shipping engines to Africa are not being
scammed. Don't take PayPal or any other dodgy payment method.
I would be even more worried if it was going to Nigerea.
