Bleeding a Perkins 4203

Can anyone help with the bleeding of a 4203?
I've tried loosening the injector unions and cranking the engine
but no joy.
It's not obvious to me which is the bleed screw on the pump or
filter or if there something else I should be doing.

The first place to start is the bleed screw on top of the fuel
filter, the one at the back on your second photo.
By the looks of the filter housing, I'd guess that the fuel
filter hasn't been changed for a while, so I'd be inclined to
replace that before trying to start the engine!

IIRC it's the little one between the gofaster lever and the ID
plate:

I've found these engines to be very fussy about leaks around the
fuel filter and lift pump. If you're in any doubt about
condition of the unions, replace them as overtightening won't
mend anything.

(don't worry about where they're
situated, they deliver quicker than many 1st world suppliers!).
I'd suggest replacing the entire filter and housing with a
modern one with a glass bowl so you can see what's accumulating.

Pickles, my man. Could you verify the link address for that
Perkins service data book, please? My Mac won't open it and says
it's incomplete.
It'll be a damned handy document for me when I put the 4.203 in
the 2B.

diesel at the bleed nipples on both filter and pump but would it
hell start on the key. 10yds on a tow rope and it fired up
straight away. Also can try bleeding at the injectors by
cracking open the feed pipes and cranking it over for around 20
seconds. Hope you can get it started

these hate starting and starve easily if they have a weak lift
pump or blocked filter. new filter, bleed that then bleed the
two tiny unions on the injector pump. check the tank pick up
pipe filter isnt blocked. easy start it or use wd40 in air
intake......then hope and rebleed! rofl

There's fuel at the bleed screw on the filter and the bleed
screw on the distributor pump and at the unions of the injectors
but it still won't even give a cough. It starts fine for a
second or two with easy start. Maybe the injectors are fouled
up?
There is some sediment in the tank pick up filter which I can't
seem to clean -it's on the inside of the gauze. I fed it fuel
direct from a lemonade bottle, squeezing the bottle to give the
pump a help while cranking but still no joy. I'll try again
tomorrow with a boost from another motor to spin it faster.
