IIa 6 Cyl speedo cable

Can anyone help me with a part number and possibly somewhere to
get one? I am assuming here that a 4 cylinder item is too short.
I have the original one which turns but I seem to have misplaced
it (my garage is currently a tip!) but I would like to fit a new
one (providing decent quality ones are available)

I think you're correct about the 4cyl one being too short,
however I think I read you can use a S3 one as they are longer
due to the position of the clocks but my memory is vague :-?,
you will need to confirm this yourself.
and I think proper 2a 6 pot ones are rare and expensive.

Experience of Mick Jabba and myself was that the 4 pot nowadays
are long enough but that the shitpart ones won't fit through the
hole in the bulkhead

At that price for genuine, I can definitely live with that!

SIII one would fit lengthwise, but the speedo connection is the
clip on, rather than the screw on type.
As above Alex, for that price I will go genuine as they can be a
ballache to fit - I know on my 88" the plate is held on with
slot headed screws, which when the overdrive is in place makes
it bloody hard to get them off! I will be using hex-headed on
the Carawagon so cable removal does not necessitate removal of
overdrive... If Shitpart doesn't even fit through the bulkhead
then that's a no no for me!

Early Range Rover (2 door / 4 speed) speedo cable has the same
fittings (at both ends) and is a good few inches longer than the
4 cylinder IIA article, so would work with a 6 cyl.
