My Rover P5 engine has the SU carb but is the 3lt version of the
LR 2.6. Economical it's not but bloody good fun and a cracking
noise in a 86 inch S1.

The one on the top by the air intake is, im fairly sure the carb
overflow line (well it is on V8's) it needs to be piped to
somewhere safe (I.e f the float chamber overflows, petrol will
piss out of it )
Need a better pic of the other ones really

The hose with the flame trap (the rubber hose to the right of
the photograph) goes between air intake elbow and the crankcase
breather. The right angled pipe on the inlet manifold to the
rear of the engine is the vacuum for the brake servo (if
fitted). Not overly familiar with the two connections you
suggest to connect together.
The SU was only fitted for a very short period on the bonneted
controls, but I think was fitted to all FCs until to the
introduction of the Stromberg. Mine is on a Stromberg and looks
to have been from new. I can't remember when they changed, but
it would be around May/June 1967.
