How do I plumb this bloody thing up? (6 pot carb)

Anyone got any knowledge on this? I've forgotten everything
about petrol engines, primarily working on diseaseals.
basically, I've nort gort a fecking clue what i'm doing.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!

You may have problems, Moogs, because I'm pretty sure 6-cyls
only ever had Stromberg carbs on them...and that is an SU. I may
be wrong and they may have been an optional, or some time
       standard, fitting.
That yellow pipe is, I'm sure, the vacuum pipe to the dizzy and
the black one is, as you point out, the fuel feed.
The breather pipe with the flame-trap on should go on to a tube
mounted on the rocker cover (in the case of V8/SU). The only
place I can imagine it would fit with 6-cyl/SU would be the
black breather mushroom which sits on the rocker cover, towards
the front; except I can't see one on yours.
There is such a breather pipe and trap which comes from/goes to
the front cover, but I don't know where the other end goes.
That's as much help as I can give, I'm afraid. But let us know
how you crack on when you nail it, as one never knows what breed
of Leafer one may get in the future.

SUs on a 6 cyl were a very early fitting, possibly only for
1967, but maybe 68 as well. They were soon ditched in favour of
the Stromberg for reasons which evade me; although may have
       continued on export models.
I'm not certain what year your truck is, but unless you are nuts
about originality I would pick up a Stromberg (ex 6-pot
Strombergs do crop up on t'bay fairly regularly) in the
interests of fuel consumption alone; I think that it's a fairly
safe bet that the SU, while being a fine carb, would be less
       efficient than the Stromberg.
But this is academic as I can't offer any practical help Moogs.
       Sorry.

I had SU carbs on my old P4 110 where they worked very well.
When the engine was de-tuned for LR purposes I believe
exoerience showed the SU wasn't quite the right tool, hence the
change to Strombergs in late 60s early 70s. I think the
110 was the best car type car I have ever owned, but we were
poor then and it had to go.

*sigh* I can't work it out. I do have a 6 cyl stromberg, but I
really wanted to keep the SU

       Well it's '66 onwards, as it's the 2B, I think.
I think you have to ask what an SU will give you on that motor,
against the utility delivery of a Stromberg.
True, SUs are a good sporty big delivery with a matchless
record. But something that can really shovel just isn't what a
2B is or was ever supposed to be.
I'd go with the Strommy if you have the gaum to fit that.

I have to concur with Drew.
On a big, heavy beast like the 2b, all that the SU will probably
be able to offer you is an even more painful level of juice
       consumption.
Running a six-pot, while undeniably joyous in certain respects,
is becoming undeniably eye watering in its proclivity to empty
the wallet. It costs me £20 just to get to and from the local
petrol station to put £20 quids worth of fuel in..!
If you can avoid making the situation (needlessly) worse, I
would humbly counsel you to do so.

       I think I've managed it.
I'm sticking SU for now....as i'd like to drive it as an
original vehicle for a while, before I decide on modifications!

Nice one Moogs, I would never condem anyone for wanting to keep
their vehicle original. I hope it all works as it should.
