       Racked-up.
By: Drew Date: July 11, 2013, 2:06 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Some may remember a few years ago, 2008 to be precise, my
shovelling-it over to the UK to LATP and EOD. And for that trip,
I made a roof-rack from some aluminium angle. It served its
purpose and got passed on to a French guy who marvelled at its
       rivet and bolts fixing.
Here it is, after I landed back home in SW-ish France...

Well, recently, I was fortunate enough to be given a pukka
Brownchurch rack by Arjan; not a correct model for a Series
truck-cab (I think), but I do believe that if you want something
to fit, you can make it so do.
To that end, I needed to get in contact with Brownchurch, as the
foot-clamps were missing. And with a little attention with an
angle-grinder to shorten the gallows brackets by a couple of
CMs, plus some old cycle inner-tubes cropped to act as
foot-pads, today was the day that 'Tommy' got a bit of roof kit
becoming of the discerning Euroleafer, ready to be stacked with
all manner of deep-dish tat wheels and other Land-Roverphenalia
which different persons of OLLR are buying to help fund my jaunt
       to LATP.
Sorry about the photograph. It's a 'phone snap and despite my
best efforts with Aperture, it still looks grainy...

I reckon I've just dropped my estimated MPG down to 15 :smile1

I believe the famous photograph of Tommy, post EOD, parked at
chez Drewster, is still one of the banners on the home page of
       the SIII Club. :smile1

Would that be the SIII fail outfit that SajSeven set up, which
also tried to take the OLLR tiger mountain, by strategy (three
       plotters, I recall)?

       That's the one, Woods.
If it was finished, I would, Lucy. Ambition and what was
possible didn't align, preventing a roll-out before 'Pit',
       sadly.
